To ensure the safety of visitors and staff, the USC will no longer serve alcohol as of Friday, September 18. Now that the competitions have started again, it is proving difficult to enforce the corona security measures. Especially after consuming alcohol, keeping safe distance is not always taken into account. Leiden University is implementing this measure immediately in the interest of everyone's health.
NEW BEACHVOLLEY BALL ALMOST READY TO USE
Our brand new beach volleyball courts can be put into use starting from next week. The fields are no longer located in front of the entrance of the USC main building, but are now at all our other sports fields and the club building. Handy: the fields are completely fenced, so you don't have to walk far if a ball bounces in a completely different direction. Fancy a game? Reserve a court yourself via the 'My USC Leiden Sports App'.
UNIVERSITY SPORTS CENTRE REOPENS FOR INDOOR SPORTS ON JULY 1
At the June 24 press conference it was announced that indoor sports locations are allowed to reopen their doors for sports activities. This is good news! It means USC Leiden will also restart with indoor sports, from Wednesday July 1.
Leiden University completely smoke-free starting August
From 1 August 2020, smoking on the premises of Leiden University will be prohibited. Dutch law obliges institutions of higher education to enforce a full smoking ban on their premises as of that date.
