Lemongrass grows in tropical climates and looks a bit like green onions. The white core of the lemongrass stalk has a subtle lemon-floral taste and therefor lemongrass is often used in the Thai-, Indian-, Indonesian- and Vietnamese cuisine.
Relaxation of corona measures after March 3
Good news at last! In the period from March 3, up to and including at least March 15, it is possible to resume a part of our sports activities. That means that you can finally enjoy sports again at the USC.
How do you handle waste
Each year, every person in the Netherlands throws out an average of 500 kilograms of garbage. This causes a significant loss of energy and contributes to CO2 emissions, as the garbage needs to be burned. Time to change this!
Sustainability within the USC
Didi van Berge Henegouwen and Mark Siezenga are the sustainability coordinators of the University Sports Centre. They are responsible for the sustainability initiatives organised by the USC. For example, in 2019, they organised the Bio Science Park Plogging & Cleanup event. Next to that, they strive to improve sustainability within the USC itself. In 2021, they started sharing tips on sustainability through social media.
USC Healthy & Delicious Breakfast Challenge: the winners!
For the USC Healthy & Delicious Breakfast Challenge, we asked our sporters to send us their most favorite breakfast (sorry, chocolate croissants won’t pass the bar in this time). We were looking for healthy recipes based on their ingredients and a fair balance of macro- and micronutrients. Macronutrients are carbohydrates, proteins and fats and micronutrients are vitamines and minerals. Besides healthy, these recipes also had to be delicious.
