Breakdance is an urban dance originating in the Bronx, New York. It involves vertical dancing as well as ground elements and acrobatics. The message is simple: Come together, get loose and enjoy the music. Traditionally, it is danced to the music of funk legend James Brown, 90's Hip Hop and Break-beats, from which Breakdance owns it's name. It is considered one of the four original columns of Hip Hop next to rapping, graffiti-writing and DJing. Today, it is strongly influenced by different dance styles and even proposed as an Olympic sport.
