Outdoor Swimming at De Vliet is Back! Good news: starting 28 April, you can enjoy outdoor swimming again at Buitenbad De Vliet! Start your morning fresh and energised with a swim in the open water. The University Sports Centre offers students and staff the opportunity to swim Monday to Friday, from 07:00 to 10:30. This outdoor swimming season runs until 18 July, so take your chance to dive in!
Important: Adjusted Opening Hours and Closure Dates
In addition to the start of outdoor swimming, there are several dates when Leiden’s swimming pools will be closed. Check the dates below and plan accordingly:
All Leiden swimming pools will be closed on:
- Sunday 20 April (Easter Sunday)
- Monday 21 April (Easter Monday)
- Monday 5 May (Liberation Day)
- Thursday 29 May (Ascension Day)
- Sunday 8 June (Pentecost Sunday)
- Monday 9 June (Pentecost Monday)
- Monday 21 July to Sunday 31 August (summer holidays)
Adjusted Opening Hours at Combibad De Vliet:
- Sunday 30 March: No student swimming due to a Triathlon.
