Progress Update: University Sports Center Construction on Track!
The construction of our new University Sports Center is progressing steadily and remains on schedule! Over the past few weeks, significant milestones have been reached, and we are excited to share the latest updates.
Latest Developments on the Construction Site
Last week, the pressure layers on the hollow-core slab floors of the first floor were all poured. Additionally, the sand-lime brick interior wall in the technical room was installed and insulated. Most of the steel roof plates have also been placed, except for those in the technical areas, allowing the installation of the air handling units (AHUs), which are currently being assembled.
Furthermore, the HSB and Cladiwall exterior walls are being installed, and work has begun on the metal stud interior walls on the ground floor. In the coming week, new key construction tasks are scheduled: the aluminum frames and curtain walls will be installed, as well as the underfloor heating. Once this is in place, the sand-cement floor can be finished.
Reaching the Highest Point
Last month marked a significant milestone: the highest point of the building was reached with the installation of ten massive roof trusses! The six longer trusses, each approximately 34 meters, and the four shorter ones, measuring 30 meters, were transported with special guidance and successfully installed. The building now stands at a height of 9.4 meters.
Meanwhile, the last steel structures have been placed, and the hollow-core floors have been installed. The first HSB exterior walls have also been set up, along with the initial air ducts on the ground floor. As the exterior walls continue to take shape, we are getting closer to making the building wind and watertight—an important milestone that will allow us to start the interior finishing phase.
On Track for Completion
The project is progressing according to plan, and the building is expected to be handed over to us on December 1. From that moment, we can begin furnishing the facility with sports equipment and installations. The official opening is scheduled for early 2026, when our brand-new sports center will be fully operational!
