Update on the new University Sports Centre
Recently, the first employees of the University Sports Centre received a tour of the construction site for the new sports centre. They were updated on the current progress and the upcoming steps in the construction process.
The construction is proceeding according to schedule: work is currently focused on filling the spaces between the foundation beams, and the installation of hollow-core floors on the ground level has begun.
The new complex will cover an area of approximately 9,000m², is energy-neutral, and has high ambitions in terms of circularity, climate adaptation, and biodiversity. The design includes two sports halls, three dance studios, a body and mind hall, a large fitness area with spinning facilities, changing rooms for indoor and outdoor sports, and accompanying bike storage and sports café. The design has an open feel, with the idea that "seeing movement inspires movement."
