The Waterwell Guide

Ground- and drinking water have become such common things, that’s it’s nearly impossible to imagine that we are ever going to be without.

During the period from November till January it has rained occasionally and sometimes fiercely. Luckily the February snow too has contributed to lowering the shortage in the groundwater levels. But still there are parts in the Netherlands that will need even more rain to make up the low levels from the last years. With the upcoming spring and summer we best be prepared for new water shortages.

The Dutch Regional Water Authorities control only 30% of our water. That’s why farmers, companies and nature organizations collaborate to use the water in the most efficient way. But we as well are important in combatting climate change and the compulsory effects, such as water shortages. Maybe our contribution seems small, but all small contributions together will make a big impact.

The Waterwell Guide

Regional Water Authority De Dommel has introduced the Waterwell Guide: how the use water more consciously.

What do I do with water in my garden? Can I save water during laundering? What can and can’t I throw away in the toilet? De Waterwell Guide is filled with facts and advices to use water more consciously. The Waterwell Guide makes it possible for everyone to contribute to a more sustainable environment! Take a look on their website to see what you can do.
