Tightening USC corona measures
starting from Wednesday 14 October 2020 at 10 p.m.
With the tightening of the measures, a number of adjustments will be made at the locations of the University Sports Center in Leiden and The Hague.
Specifically for the University Sports Center Leiden and The Hague:
- All competitions have been postponed.
- All other matches and tournaments are no longer possible.
- All changing rooms / showers at our locations will be closed.
- Group lessons in indoor sports are only allowed if it is possible to keep 1.5 meters apart.
- For indoor sports, a maximum of 30 people are allowed per independent space. So a maximum of 30 people in the group lessons, if the 1.5m distance can be guaranteed.
- The student sport association members will be informed about the training sessions via the boards of their club.
Bar / restaurant
Our bar / restaurant will remain closed.
With the new measures, the changing rooms will be closed indefinitely at all our locations from October 14 at 10 p.m. Athletes can take any bags into the hall and / or fitness. The lockers in the corridor of the USC will remain available.
Fitness and spinning
No new measures are being implemented for our fitness rooms and spinning hall, this is still possible in the current form.
Competitions, competitions and tournaments
It is no longer possible to organize tournaments or competitions. As a result, all competitions that were planned will be temporarily canceled. In addition, all other matches and tournaments have also been officially canceled.
Sports at a distance of 1.5 meters and a maximum of 30 people per room for individual sports
All group lessons with normal contact (martial arts, partner dance, etc.) can no longer take place in their current form. These sports are also only possible if the 1.5 meters distance can be guaranteed.
For this reason, it has been decided to provide alternative training for the following sports: boxing, karate, salsa, bachata, zouk, ballroom dancing and pole fitness.
The jiu jitsu and kickboxing training sessions will be canceled.
This also means that our maximum group size in the other lessons will be adjusted to 30. Please note: this may mean that your reservation for this week may be canceled in our app. We will contact you about this.
Free sports indoors
Free sports are allowed indoors, within the applicable rules. Reservations for indoor sports are only possible by e-mail (email@example.com). Free sports for contact sports are not allowed. No (indoor) football or volleyball. Basketball with more than 1 person is not allowed, unless it concerns specific (shot) training that can be done 1.5m apart. Badminton is only possible in singles, so doubles are not allowed. For budo sports, you may reserve a room provided you keep to the 1.5m distance. Partner dances are only allowed if the dancers are 1.5m apart.
Free sports outside
Only free tennis is allowed. All other free sports outside are not allowed. We choose this because our other outdoor sports are all contact sports and we cannot continuously monitor the sports fields. For tennis: a maximum of 4 players per court.
Changed opening hours
The USC closes on Saturdays 17/10, 24/10, 31/10 and 7/11 at 6:00 PM instead of 8:30 PM. End of sport at 5.30 pm.
As of 7.00 hours on 15 October, it is compulsory for everyone in our buildings to wear a face mask. The basic rule is as follows: if you are standing or walking, you must wear a face mask, but if you are sitting you may remove it. More specifically this means the following:
The rule applies not only to all students and lecturers but also to all researchers and other members of staff who are in our buildings. It also applies to visitors.
In line with national measures, it is not necessary to wear a fase mask during sports.
