What does the USC have to offer?
The University Sports Centre has a lot in store for you. This site will explain how our membership works and will explain all the things you can do with your membership.
GYM FACILITIES AT THREE LOCATIONS
Our all-in membership grants you access to our three gyms where you can work on your fitness and strength: the USC main building on Einsteinweg, Plex-Fit in Plexus located right in the heart of Leiden and The Buzz in The Hague. They all have a wide range of cardio and strength training equipment as well as professional trainers who are on hand to offer free advice.
MORE THAN 55 SPORTS + FREE SWIMMING
As well as our excellent gym facilities we also offer lessons in more than 55 different sports: from ballet to self defense sports, from yoga to spinning and from pole fitness to boxing. And there’s more. You can also swim for free at the Vijf Meibad and De Zijl pools in Leiden and Overbosch, Houtzagerij, Hofbad and Zuiderpark in The Hague during designated times. More information about the swimming pools in Leiden can be found here, and swimming pools in The Hague here.
With our membership you can also participate in our course blocks such as bachata and pole fitness for free. Or get on a spinning bike in our separate spinning room that is located on top of the fitness in our USC main building.
BOOKING SPORTS FIELDS AND HALLS
Members of the USC can reserve fields or sports halls for free and practice sports without the supervision of a teacher or association.
STUDENT SPORTS ASSOCIATIONS
As a member of the USC you can also join one of the following student sports associations:
LUSV Badminton, LUSV Basketball, Panic (frisbee), Thor (hockey), Leicrosse (lacrosse), Qravel (tennis), LSRG (rugby), Football Factory (football), Leidance (dance), SKC (volleyball) and Aquamania (water polo and swimming). As well as offering a healthy dose of sporting pleasure, these associations also organize parties, tournaments, sports weekends and other fun activities. We offer more than 55 sports and group classes. Some ‘old school’ like judo, boxing and ballet, but also brand-new ones like hiphop femme, hoopdance and twerk dance, which are taught in a beautiful mirrored hall. This makes it possible to work on your techniques even better. More information about our associations can be found here for Leiden and here for The Hague.
