Direct debit at the USC

Starting from Monday January 27, the University Sports Centre will make it easier (and more convenient) than ever to manage your sports membership. We are introducing direct debit, meaning you no longer need to pay for the entire year but can instead pay in 12 installments. This means that once a month, the payment for your sports membership will be automatically withdrawn. When we go live will be communicated as soon as possible.

FAQ

I have an active membership. Do I need to do anything?

No, your current membership will remain active until the end date. After that, you can take out a new membership that will be paid via direct debit.

What memberships do you offer?

We offer a continuous annual membership that is debited monthly. This membership can only be canceled after 12 full months have been debited. After that, you can cancel it monthly.

We also have a continuous flex membership. This is debited monthly and can be canceled after one full month has been debited.

Both memberships renew automatically.

Where can I sign up for these memberships?

You can only take out direct debit memberships online. It is not possible to do this at the USC reception desks because you need to authorize USC via the online form to debit the membership fee.

When do you debit the payments?

When you purchase a new membership, we debit the first period (until the end of that month) immediately. After that, the payments are debited monthly during the first week of the month.

Can I cancel my membership myself?

Yes, you can cancel your membership yourself via the app or website, within the applicable rules. Please also refer to the membership description for more details.

What happens if I graduate or switch customer groups?

If you graduate, your status will change to alumni. At the next direct debit, you will pay the alumni rate.
This applies to all changes, such as stopping your studies or leaving employment. The new rate will be debited with the next direct debit.

How do you handle price changes?

The university determines the new prices for the following calendar year at the end of November each year. The new rates take effect in January and will be debited from January onwards. The new prices are announced two weeks in advance.

Why do I need to enter my details twice when I take out a direct debit membership for the first time?

Unfortunately, this cannot be avoided. You must authorize us to debit money from your account. To ensure this is done correctly, it has to go through a separate form.

I purchased a Flex membership but want an annual membership. Can I switch it?

Yes, you can do this yourself by canceling your Flex membership in your profile and taking out a new annual membership with the correct start date. If this does not work, please contact us at sportcentrum@usc.leidenuniv.nl.

Can I register for courses with a Flex membership?

Yes, you can register for courses, including tennis, with a Flex membership.

I am a member of Qravel. Which membership should I purchase?

As a member of Qravel, you can purchase either an annual membership or a flex membership.

My direct debit does not work/is not accepted. What should I do?
