What does the USC have to offer?
The University Sports Centre has a lot in store for you. This site will explain how our membership works and will explain all the things you can do with your membership.
We offer more than 50 sports and group classes. Some ‘old school’ like judo, boxing and ballet, but also brand-new ones like hiphop, flamenco and riverdance, which are taught in a beautiful mirrored hall. This makes it possible to work on your techniques even better.
Our group classes are all located in the main building of the USC at the Einsteinweg. For fitness, we have two locations; besides the Einsteinweg we have PlexFit, right in the town centre of Leiden. The fitness area at the USC-building is very spacious, there is pleasant air conditioning and it is equiped with the latest exercise machines. The PlexFit area is renovated as well. Now, the main focus is on functional training: this means you can work with kettlebells, sandbags, battle ropes and TRX-trainers.
With your membership, you can join our free courses like aerial acrobatics and pole fitness as well. Get on one of the bikes in our spinning room or join one of our students sports associations! Like to play tennis? You can book a court for free and play unrestricted tennis yourself, or pay a small fee for our special tennis courses; for beginners as well as advanced players. The tennis courts are located outside the sports centre, where you can also find brand-new playing fields for soccer, rugby and hockey. There is also a running track and a club house with canteen and changing rooms.
